High School SCIENCE eNotes: Using a Digital Microscope

DESCRIPTION

Young science students have always been fascinated by the new perspectives that a microscope can reveal of everyday objects. In recent years the growth of digital photography associated with mobile devices has made available a number of inexpensive imaging devices including several types of digital microscopes.

This eDocument describes how to use a hand-held digital microscope to produce good quality micrographs of a range of different objects. It is intended to stimulate the interest of young scientists who have a burning curiosity about the world around them and a keenness to investigate it in every way possible. It is also designed to introduce budding researchers to the use of microscopy in a scientific setting.
